Position Overview:
Identify the technology risks before they happen.
When outages occur, is your first concern the impact on the stakeholders?

You'll provide leadership and direction to the shared functions of Network Performance Analysis, Network Integrity Services and Network Integrity Data/Transport. More than just assessing the impact of physical and cyber risks to the Network, you'll be determining the business impact of forward looking network decisions.
Reporting to the VP, National Network Assurance, and working with the larger team, you'll lead your
Network Integrity team to ensure that we are a destination of choice for our customers and team members. Specifically, you'll
- Improve core network reliability
- Assess operational technology related risks
- Enhance speed to market for new network based services Support new revenue through customer driven networks and services
Responsibilities:
The primary responsibilities of this role include:
- Provide sound and disciplined leadership to operational teams for the introduction of new services and new technologies
- Ensure that all of the core networks meet performance targets and develop improvement plans when targets are not met
- Build network measures to accurately measure network availability and element performance
- Interface with the various stakeholders to implement network improvement plans and to drive sound new service introductions
- Manage vendor performance with vendor scorecards and regular operational meetings with the vendors
- Direct the reduction of the technology and process based risks we face within the core Networks we
manage
- Lead the development of Proactive practices for operation of the networks
Required Knowledge:
- Strong knowledge of current and emerging technologies in Access, Switching (voice & packet data),
Transport (TDM, OC-n, ATM), and Database / Platform disciplines
- Strong industry background and experience with major industry vendors, suppliers, and other carriers / providers
- Sound knowledge of proven methodologies for analyzing and solving complex issues involving multiple internal and external stakeholders
- Sound understanding on methods and practices to identify and quantify risks including value calculations
Required Skills & Abilities:
- Demonstrated ability to successfully lead a broad and complex operational team
- Strong interpersonal, communication (verbal and written) and team building skills
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate and engage successfully with team members at all levels of the
organization
- Ability to work effectively and make quick decisions in an environment with shifting demands and rapid change
- Business planning skills including financial and risk analysis and business plan development
- Excellent technical aptitude and experience
Required Professional Designation/Certification:
- University degree or related technical diploma or an equivalent combination of training and experience
- Risk Management Certification/Diploma (CRM, IRM, RMA)
Required Experience:
- Proven profitable large scale implementation of emerging technology preferably within switching and transport
- Experience with enterprise risk management framework and models including experience authoring acquisition planning documents (LCCE, TRA, IMP, IMS)
- A minimum of 10 years experience in telecommunications service assurance and/or service fulfillment operational environment.
- Extensive leadership experience with a proven track record of managing large technical teams
- Significant experience leading change while maintaining a positive customer experience
